BRIGHTER FUTURES and the HOLY CROSS Family Resource Centre
The Holy Cross Family Resource Centre in Holy Cross Elementary School has been running for thirteen years; we offer programs and resources to parents, grandparents, and care givers with children from birth to age six.
Brighter Futures is a not for profit organization funded through the province and the federal government to support families with children from birth to age six. We offer programs in thirteen sites in and around St. John’s.
All the programs are free of charge and are offered at the Family Room at the end of the hall past the library. The programs include:
Drop In Playgroup – play based learning program (does not require registration)
Wednesday 0-6 year old and parents/care givers 9:30-11:30 am
Friday 0-6 year old and parents/care givers 9:30-11:30 am
Mother Goose – songs, rhymes and stories (requires registration/ There is a Waiting List)
Monday 2-5 year olds and parents/ caregivers
Thursday 0-2 year olds and parents/ caregivers
Other programs such as Parent Workshops, Art, Science, or Kindergarten Club (for children starting school the next school year) are offered through the year in six or eight week blocks.
